Terms & Disclaimer
Playful service only
SomeoneSentThis lets users create playful, emotional, surprise, challenge, voting, award, notice, and message-style digital experiences. It is not for official, emergency, legal, financial, government, court, police, tax, medical, threatening, harassing, coercive, extortionate, or illegal communications.
No harmful use
Do not use the service for threats, extremist content, blackmail, stalking, doxxing, hate, sexual coercion, child exploitation content, fraud, impersonation, malware, phishing, or content encouraging harm. Users are responsible for what they create and send.
Fictional notices
Funny Notice experiences must remain fictional and playful. They must not imitate real government, police, court, tax, bank, debt collection, medical, school, employer disciplinary, or emergency documents.
Payments, subscriptions, credits, and cancellation
Payments are processed by SumUp or the provider shown at checkout. Digital credits and subscription access are made available immediately after successful payment. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current paid period remains available until it ends. Subscription access, used credits, and delivered digital experiences are not refundable or exchangeable for cash except where required by law.
Credit pricing and add-ons
When an account has available credits, the checkout summary shows how many credits are required before the sender confirms delivery. One credit covers one basic digital experience at the selected template base price. Add-ons, additional recipients, upgrades, or other paid options can increase the required credits; the service calculates this by dividing the final order total by the selected template base price and rounding up to the next whole credit. Optional add-ons are digital service features, such as extended access, extra recipients, statistics tracking, QR code options, delayed delivery, unlock codes, or similar upgrades. Their price, effect, and any order-specific conditions are shown before checkout and included in the final order total. Unless clearly stated otherwise, an add-on applies only to the order where it is selected. Credits are invoiced when purchased. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection laws. Unused purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase. Using credits for delivery does not create a new invoice.
Promo codes
Promo codes are optional discounts and may be limited by product, plan, credit pack, expiry date, maximum redemptions, or other code settings. A once code applies only to the eligible checkout where it is used. A first-month subscription code applies only to the first subscription charge. A forever subscription code applies to the first subscription charge and future monthly renewals for the same active subscription, unless the subscription is cancelled, changed, blocked, or otherwise no longer eligible. Promo codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
Account agreement and optional marketing
Creating an account requires accepting the Terms & Disclaimer and Privacy Policy. Promotional emails are optional and may include occasional SomeoneSentThis product updates, offers, and tips when enabled or requested. You can unsubscribe at any time. Every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional, security, invoice, payment, account, and service emails may still be sent when needed for the service.
Account security
Account holders must keep login details secure. Passwords must be at least 10 characters and include one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number or symbol. MFA is optional, but we recommend enabling it for extra account security. When MFA is enabled, login also requires a 6-digit authenticator code. We may rate-limit or temporarily block account creation, login, password reset, email verification, MFA attempts, and similar security actions to prevent abuse. We may require password reset, MFA re-verification, email verification, or other checks if we detect unusual risk.
Creator and approved account features
Some features, including custom sender names and sender domains, are available only to eligible Creator plan users, administrator-approved accounts, or accounts specifically granted access. A registered account is not automatically an approved account for these features. Access may be limited, changed, or removed when needed to protect deliverability, security, abuse prevention, or platform quality.
Delivery responsibility
The sender is responsible for entering correct recipient details. Email delivery, payment completion, link access, DNS, hosting, browser behavior, spam filters, full inboxes, and third-party systems can fail.
Reports and recipient protection
If misuse is reported or reasonably detected, we may restrict access, refuse service, preserve necessary records, or block future sends to a recipient address.
Spam and platform reputation
For deliverability protection, each account or IP can create up to 5 sending orders per hour by default. Each sending order may include the recipient count allowed at checkout, currently up to 30 extra recipient email contacts unless a lower limit is shown. We may also enforce stricter recipient limits, stricter hourly sending limits, throttles, temporary holds, or other deliverability controls when needed. We may limit, suspend, block, or close accounts, links, orders, or sending activity if we reasonably believe the service is being used for spam, abuse, payment abuse, security risk, or activity that could harm deliverability, domain reputation, infrastructure quality, or service-provider relationships.
Safety Rules
Allowed spirit
The service is for surprise, humor, affection, harmless fictional moments, awards, playful notices, curiosity, and personal messages that do not endanger, exploit, coerce, or harass anyone.
Adults first
The service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. If a minor is involved, the sender is responsible for having the legal right and appropriate consent.
Not allowed
Do not send threats, extremist content, blackmail, harassment, stalking, doxxing, hate, fraud, phishing, impersonation, illegal sexual content, malware, or instructions for harm.
Recipient protection
Recipients can contact support if they do not want to receive messages through the platform. We may block future sends to that address. Senders must not bypass recipient protection measures.
Spam and mass sending
Do not use SomeoneSentThis for spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, scraping, phishing-like campaigns, deliverability abuse, or activity designed to damage inbox trust, domain reputation, or platform quality.
Privacy Policy
Controller and contact
The controller is the legal operator shown at the bottom of this page. For privacy, support, or abuse-prevention requests, contact hello@someonesentthis.com. For technical support, contact support@someonesentthis.com.
Privacy-first analytics
Ordinary analytics are designed for product and safety insight without us storing raw IP addresses. If analytics is allowed, we use first-party lightweight analytics, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads conversion measurement to measure page views, referrers, approximate country, device type, feature performance, and purchase events such as order number, value, currency, and product type. We do not send message content, recipient email, purchaser email, or precise GPS location to Google Analytics or Google Ads.
Security logs
For abuse prevention, account protection, upload protection, payment integrity, and legal or safety requests, we may temporarily store security events that include an encrypted IP address, IP hash, approximate country, user agent, timestamp, request path, and limited event details.
What we collect
Depending on use, we may collect recipient details entered by the sender, sender or purchaser email if entered, message content, selected experience, add-ons, custom slug, unlock and expiration dates, order and payment references, invoice records, device type, approximate country, timestamps, support requests, and abuse reports.
Accounts and guest checkout
Guest checkout collects only what is needed for a specific send. Accounts and subscriptions require additional data such as name, email, password hash, MFA status, plan, credits, usage, invoices, billing references, cancellation status, and support records.
Payments and invoices
Payments are processed by SumUp or the provider shown at checkout. We do not store full card numbers, CVC codes, or bank authentication credentials. Invoice, accounting, tax, and payment records may be retained where legally required.
Do-not-contact and abuse prevention
If a recipient asks not to receive messages through the platform, we may store that email address on a do-not-contact list to prevent future sends and protect deliverability and safety.
Promotional messages
If you opt in, we may send occasional product updates, tips, and offers. You can unsubscribe from promotional messages at any time. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional, security, invoice, payment, account, or service emails that are needed for the service.
Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection. Some records may need to be retained for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, legal, or dispute reasons.
Age restriction
The service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. Do not submit personal data about minors unless you have the legal right to do so and the content is appropriate, safe, and lawful.
Cookie Policy
Current first-party cookies
The site currently uses an essential session cookie, usually named someonesentthis-session, and a CSRF security cookie, usually named XSRF-TOKEN. Analytics preference and visitor identifiers may be stored in browser storage. If analytics is accepted, Google Analytics and Google Ads may set cookies such as _ga, _ga_<container-id>, or use similar identifiers.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies support secure sessions, request protection, language choice, checkout flow, saved form progress, password unlock status, account login, admin login, and basic site functionality.
Analytics
If allowed, we load Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement from Google Tag Manager and use it together with first-party analytics to measure page views, country-level usage, device type, referrers, time on page, conversion rates, feature performance, and purchase events. Declining analytics prevents Google measurement tags from loading and does not disable essential cookies.
Payment cookies
SumUp or another provider shown at checkout may use cookies or similar technologies for checkout, fraud prevention, and authentication. Those providers control their own payment cookies and privacy practices.
Managing choices
You can accept analytics, decline analytics, or open settings from the cookie notice. Browser controls can also block cookies, but blocking essential cookies may break checkout, forms, unlocks, account access, or admin login.
