Terms & Disclaimer
Playful service only
SomeoneSentThis lets users create playful, emotional, surprise, challenge, voting, award, notice, and message-style digital experiences. It is not for official, emergency, legal, financial, government, court, police, tax, medical, threatening, harassing, coercive, extortionate, or illegal communications.
No harmful use
Do not use the service for threats, extremist content, blackmail, stalking, doxxing, hate, sexual coercion, child exploitation content, fraud, impersonation, malware, phishing, or content encouraging harm. Users are responsible for what they create and send.
Fictional notices
Funny Notice experiences must remain fictional and playful. They must not imitate real government, police, court, tax, bank, debt collection, medical, school, employer disciplinary, or emergency documents.
Payments and paid features
The checkout identifies the product, price, currency, applicable charges and duration before you order. Payments are processed by SumUp or the provider shown there. Credits become available after successful payment; a paid experience is then fulfilled under its agreed delivery and access terms. A payment or the activation of credits does not, by itself, remove consumer rights. Recurring subscriptions are available only if expressly offered at checkout with their renewal price, frequency and cancellation conditions. This page does not activate a subscription or authorise a new recurring charge.
Credits, purchased value and add-ons
Before a credit-funded send, the summary shows the required credits. One credit covers the selected template's basic experience. Additional recipients, add-ons and upgrades can increase the requirement: the final order total is divided by the selected template's base price and rounded up to a whole credit. The effect and price of each add-on are shown before confirmation and apply to that order unless stated otherwise. Purchased credits do not expire. Free promotional credits may have separately disclosed lawful limits and expiry; they do not have a cash refund value unless the law requires otherwise. Credits are normally usable only for this service and are non-transferable. This does not exclude a statutory refund, protected prepaid-value right or agreed account-closure settlement. Credits are invoiced when purchased; redeeming them does not create another charge for the same purchase.
Promotions
A promotion's eligibility, discount, duration, redemption limit and other material conditions are disclosed before use. A discount applies only to the eligible purchase unless its offer says otherwise. Free bonuses and discounts are not normally redeemable for cash, but cannot reduce mandatory refund or prepaid-value rights. A promotion cannot authorise a recurring subscription that was not expressly agreed.
Your agreement and optional marketing
Creating an account or placing an order requires acceptance of the applicable Terms and Safety Rules. The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled. Marketing emails are optional and require the consent or other lawful basis stated when collected; you can unsubscribe at any time. Necessary order, invoice, security, moderation and service communications are separate from marketing.
Account security
Account holders must keep login details secure. Passwords must be at least 10 characters and include one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number or symbol. MFA is optional, but we recommend enabling it for extra account security. When MFA is enabled, login also requires a 6-digit authenticator code. We may rate-limit or temporarily block account creation, login, password reset, email verification, MFA attempts, and similar security actions to prevent abuse. We may require password reset, MFA re-verification, email verification, or other checks if we detect unusual risk.
Creator and approved account features
Some features, including custom sender names and sender domains, are available only to eligible Creator plan users, administrator-approved accounts, or accounts specifically granted access. A registered account is not automatically an approved account for these features. Access may be limited, changed, or removed when needed to protect deliverability, security, abuse prevention, or platform quality.
Delivery and service problems
You must enter accurate recipient and scheduling details and use the service lawfully. Email filters, recipient systems and other third parties can affect delivery, and an accepted email is not proof that the recipient read it. We investigate reported failures and apply the remedies required for non-delivery, lack of conformity or our failure to provide the agreed service. Technical risks and recipient mistakes do not exclude rights that the law makes mandatory.
Reports and recipient protection
Report unwanted, unsafe or unlawful content to support@someonesentthis.com and identify the relevant link or order where possible. Do not include more personal information than necessary. We review reports and may stop further delivery to a recipient who asks not to be contacted. A sender must not evade a recipient block or pressure someone to withdraw a report. We protect the identity of a reporter and the rights of everyone involved to the extent permitted by law.
Sending limits and misuse
Do not use the platform for unsolicited bulk messages, phishing, scraping, repeated unwanted contact, payment or credit fraud, or attempts to bypass safety controls. The current sending and recipient limits are shown in the service or checkout. We may apply proportionate rate limits, temporary holds or verification measures to address a documented security or delivery risk. Restrictions are assessed under the account-review policy below; an unsupported allegation alone is not a finding of misconduct.
Account restrictions and closure
We may restrict an account, sending activity, content or a paid feature where there are reasonable, documented grounds to identify a breach of these Terms or the Safety Rules, unlawful use, fraud, a payment-integrity problem, evasion of recipient protection or a material security risk. We consider the facts, seriousness, repetition, impact and your explanation, and use a proportionate response. Where appropriate, we give a warning and an opportunity to correct the problem. An urgent protective restriction may take effect without prior warning where lawful. Permanent closure requires a separate assessment and does not automatically erase records or forfeit purchased value.
Notice and review of a restriction
Where we have your contact details, we provide a clear notice identifying the restriction, its scope and duration where known, the material facts, the relevant rule and how to request review. We indicate material automated involvement where applicable. Where the law requires notice at the time of the restriction, we give it no later than that time. We may withhold only information that the law allows us to withhold, for example to protect another person's rights or comply with a binding legal restriction. A generic disabled-account screen does not replace a required explanation.
Appeals and support
You may challenge a restriction, ask for your purchased balance or request closure by writing to support@someonesentthis.com, including your account email, any case reference and a brief explanation. You can contact support while account activity is blocked. We acknowledge requests and arrange an appropriate human review without undue delay, explain the outcome and correct an unjustified restriction. Review is free. This internal process does not limit access to a regulator, any applicable dispute-resolution procedure or a competent court, and does not shorten a statutory deadline.
Paid value when access is restricted
A block does not automatically cancel paid orders, confiscate unused purchased credits or authorise a new charge. We preserve the relevant purchase and balance records and review outstanding paid obligations when restricting or closing an account, rather than waiting solely for a complaint. Depending on the facts and applicable law, the outcome may be restored access, lawful fulfilment, restoration of credits or a refund of unused paid value. Free promotional value is assessed separately. We do not pay out more than the refundable paid amount or refund the same value twice. Any lawful claim arising from proven misuse is assessed separately and is not an automatic penalty or forfeiture.
Refunds and statutory remedies
Properly completed services are not automatically refundable merely because an account is later restricted. Unused paid services, unspent purchased value, non-delivery, defects, statutory withdrawal and other mandatory remedies are assessed separately. Where a refund is due, we use the original payment method unless you expressly agree to a permitted alternative without an extra charge. We comply with the applicable deadline; for a valid EU or Slovenian statutory withdrawal this is normally without undue delay and within 14 days after notice. A review or an appeal does not extend a legal refund deadline. We do not replace a required money refund with platform credits without your agreement.
Withdrawal and early performance
Where EU or Slovenian distance-contract withdrawal rights apply, you normally have 14 days from conclusion of the contract to withdraw without giving a reason. Send an unequivocal statement to support@someonesentthis.com or use the site's Withdraw from contract function before the deadline. Identify yourself and the purchase; the model withdrawal form is optional. Purchasing or activating credits alone is not a waiver. If you expressly request an early start, the rules for services and digital content differ. Service withdrawal can end after full performance only with the required prior request and acknowledgement; a lawful proportionate charge may apply to requested partial performance. Immediate digital-content supply needs the separate consent, acknowledgement and durable confirmation required by law before a loss of withdrawal rights can be relied on. Your non-delivery and conformity remedies remain.
Applicable law and your local rights
These Terms are governed by Slovenian law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not remove mandatory protections that apply under the law of your habitual residence or another applicable law. Depending on the transaction, these can include EU, national, US state or Canadian provincial protections. Nothing here requires a consumer to bring every dispute exclusively in Slovenia or removes access to a court or authority that has jurisdiction under mandatory law.
Versions and changes
The effective date and version identify these Terms. We retain earlier versions and the acceptance records relevant to your account and orders. A material change is notified in advance where required and applies prospectively; it does not retroactively reduce rights in an existing purchase or confiscate paid value. Where the law requires a reason, notice, consent or an opportunity to end an ongoing service, we provide it. A page update alone is not acceptance of a new paid obligation.
Consumer complaints and dispute resolution
Send a service or payment complaint to support@someonesentthis.com. We provide a reasoned response and the dispute-resolution information required for the particular case. You keep all applicable rights to contact a consumer authority, seek an available independent dispute process or bring a claim before a competent court. Details of any Slovenian consumer alternative dispute-resolution provider recognised by the operator, or the statement that none is voluntarily recognised, are given separately below.
Safety Rules
Allowed spirit
The service is for surprise, humor, affection, harmless fictional moments, awards, playful notices, curiosity, and personal messages that do not endanger, exploit, coerce, or harass anyone.
Adults first
The service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. If a minor is involved, the sender is responsible for having the legal right and appropriate consent.
Not allowed
Do not send threats, extremist content, blackmail, harassment, stalking, doxxing, hate, fraud, phishing, impersonation, illegal sexual content, malware, or instructions for harm.
Recipient protection
Recipients can contact support if they do not want to receive messages through the platform. We may block future sends to that address. Senders must not bypass recipient protection measures.
Spam and mass sending
Do not use SomeoneSentThis for spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, scraping, phishing-like campaigns, deliverability abuse, or activity designed to damage inbox trust, domain reputation, or platform quality.
Fair safety enforcement
We assess reports and detected risks carefully, objectively and proportionately. Measures can include a warning, removal or disabling of specific content, a temporary sending hold, additional verification or an account restriction. Serious or urgent risks can justify immediate action without prior warning where lawful. Repetition, harm, intent where established and attempts to evade protection are relevant; a report alone does not establish guilt. Closure, paid balances and legal records are reviewed separately under the Terms.
Report a problem or request review
Contact support@someonesentthis.com to report misuse or challenge an action. Include the relevant link or case reference and enough detail to explain the issue, without exposing unnecessary personal information. We provide the notice and review required by law and correct an unjustified action. Do not retaliate against a reporter or try to bypass a recipient block. In an immediate emergency, contact the appropriate emergency authority rather than relying on this entertainment service.
Privacy Policy
Controller and contact
The controller is the legal operator shown at the bottom of this page. For privacy, support, or abuse-prevention requests, contact hello@someonesentthis.com. For technical support, contact support@someonesentthis.com.
Privacy-first analytics
Ordinary analytics are designed for product and safety insight without us storing raw IP addresses. If analytics is allowed, we use first-party lightweight analytics, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads conversion measurement to measure page views, referrers, approximate country, device type, feature performance, and purchase events such as order number, value, currency, and product type. We do not send message content, recipient email, purchaser email, or precise GPS location to Google Analytics or Google Ads.
Security, moderation and review records
For account and upload protection, payment integrity, abuse prevention and review, we process limited security events and case records. These can include an encrypted IP address or IP hash, approximate country, user agent, time, relevant request path, reported content references, the factual reason for an action, its scope, notices, your explanation and the review outcome. We use a valid legal basis, including a necessary and balanced legitimate interest where appropriate, not an unrestricted right to monitor or keep everything indefinitely. Access is limited to authorised people and service providers who need it.
What we collect
Depending on use, we may collect recipient details entered by the sender, sender or purchaser email if entered, message content, selected experience, add-ons, custom slug, unlock and expiration dates, order and payment references, invoice records, device type, approximate country, timestamps, support requests, and abuse reports.
Accounts and guest checkout
Guest checkout collects only what is needed for a specific send. Accounts and subscriptions require additional data such as name, email, password hash, MFA status, plan, credits, usage, invoices, billing references, cancellation status, and support records.
Payments and legally required records
Payments are processed by SumUp or the provider shown at checkout. We do not store full card numbers, CVC codes or bank authentication credentials. We retain necessary order, payment, invoice, tax and accounting records for the periods required by the applicable law. Account closure does not erase a legally required record. A required financial record is kept for that limited purpose, with restricted access, and is not retained as an unrestricted active customer profile.
Do-not-contact and abuse prevention
If a recipient asks not to receive messages through the platform, we may store that email address on a do-not-contact list to prevent future sends and protect deliverability and safety.
Promotional messages
If you opt in, we may send occasional product updates, tips, and offers. You can unsubscribe from promotional messages at any time. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional, security, invoice, payment, account, or service emails that are needed for the service.
Your rights and privacy contact
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing, and withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Contact support@someonesentthis.com; account suspension does not prevent a privacy request. We verify identity proportionately and respond within the applicable statutory period. You may complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner or another competent supervisory authority. Erasure has legal exceptions, including necessary compliance records and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims; any exception is limited to the data and period that are actually needed.
Age restriction
The service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. Do not submit personal data about minors unless you have the legal right to do so and the content is appropriate, safe, and lawful.
Closure, retention and deletion
Blocking access, closing an account and deleting personal data are separate steps. We first review outstanding paid obligations, necessary notices and any open appeal or dispute. We then delete or anonymise data no longer needed, subject to applicable law. Necessary security evidence or legal-claim records may be retained for a justified, limited period; a vague possibility of future misuse does not justify indefinite retention of the whole account. Retained records remain protected and are used only for their stated purpose. Backups follow a controlled replacement cycle and are not a means to reactivate a deleted profile.
Cookie Policy
Current first-party cookies
The site currently uses an essential session cookie, usually named someonesentthis-session, and a CSRF security cookie, usually named XSRF-TOKEN. Analytics preference and visitor identifiers may be stored in browser storage. If analytics is accepted, Google Analytics and Google Ads may set cookies such as _ga, _ga_<container-id>, or use similar identifiers.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies support secure sessions, request protection, language choice, checkout flow, saved form progress, password unlock status, account login, admin login, and basic site functionality.
Analytics
If allowed, we load Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement from Google Tag Manager and use it together with first-party analytics to measure page views, country-level usage, device type, referrers, time on page, conversion rates, feature performance, and purchase events. Declining analytics prevents Google measurement tags from loading and does not disable essential cookies.
Payment cookies
SumUp or another provider shown at checkout may use cookies or similar technologies for checkout, fraud prevention, and authentication. Those providers control their own payment cookies and privacy practices.
Managing choices
You can accept analytics, decline analytics, or open settings from the cookie notice. Browser controls can also block cookies, but blocking essential cookies may break checkout, forms, unlocks, account access, or admin login.
Slovenian consumer alternative dispute resolution
The operator does not voluntarily recognise a provider of alternative consumer dispute resolution under Slovenia's ZIsRPS. This does not exclude participation required by applicable law or your rights to contact a competent authority, use an available statutory dispute process or bring a claim before a competent court.
